Auditing
FITA advises and supports clients to make their websites accessible to everyone. FITA issues a certification that the website is fully accessible and follows Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 (w3.org). This is in line with EU regulations explaining that websites and apps need to be checked, amended, and certified accordingly for accessibility.

Training
The training department holds training sessions regarding technology skills to people with disability and elderly people. These courses are designed to help clients gain technology skills so that they can become independent in their daily lives. These courses are currently being done in house at our offices in Imrieħel and at certain Local Councils’ offices. The training sessions schedule will be posted and updated regularly through our social media and website.

Helpdesk
Our Helpdesk department helps identify and assist clients with any issues that our clients may have about technology. Much of this support is provided over the phone. Queries can be made by calling on 22768008 or 22768019.
Outreach
The Outreach department is dedicated to providing the highest quality of service to our clients. Our team of professional staff members are highly trained and experienced in providing assistance to clients both at our office and offsite. We understand that many of our clients may not be able to come to our office for assistance and therefore we offer home visits. Furthermore, we have established a collaboration agreement with Local Councils and other entities to provide our services in their premises. This allows us to meet with clients in a comfortable and convenient setting and provide them with the assistance they need. We strive to ensure that our clients are provided with the resources and support they need to succeed. Research
The Research Department backs FITA employees in receiving updates on existing software and hardware as much as new technology which is launched daily. Ongoing research helps FITA employs recommend the best technology available for our Clients.
Projects
These services include projects such as :
- Converting text to braille format and printing of books, information plaques, ballot papers and more.
- Assisting public and private entities in using ICT to reach out to ALL persons with disabilities and vulnerable persons who may avail of their services acquire their products.
- Advising Clients on how we can use ICT and AI equipment to improve their lifestyle such as using systems to attract Clients to visit Museums or the use of AI equipment to track “Dementia” patients.
- Creating new software to help non-visual clients learn the Maltese Language and creating educational games designed to enhance learning experiences.
- Creating a Smart Home project to help Clients experience which products are available on the market to improve their lifestyle.
